Ana’s Story is the inspiring tale of a young girl in Latin America who, after facing some of the toughest challenges life could throw her way—infection with HIV from birth, the loss of both parents and a sister, abuse and teen pregnancy, manages to remain positive and hopeful, finding peace in her relationship with God.
According to UNICEF, 2.3 million children worldwide are living with HIV/AIDS, and millions more suffer from abuse, poverty and neglect. But beyond the numbers, Ana’s determination to break the cycles of silence, abuse and fear exemplifies the hope and persistence necessary for survival.
Author Jenna Bush is the daughter of President George W. Bush and Mrs. Laura Bush. After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in English, Jenna was an elementary school teacher in Washington, D.C. for a year and a half. She then interned with UNICEF throughout Latin America and the Caribbean, documenting the lives of children excluded from basic care and education.
